Municipal

Concrete Raising and Leveling, Serving Municipalities around the US since 1974

Now offering Traditional and Polyurethane Concrete Raising, Stabilization, and Void Filling

Slabjacking is a cost-effective alternative to replacing concrete. Slabjacking can usually be done for less than half the cost of pouring new concrete; however, the savings may be even greater since the costs of demolition, removal, and landscaping are eliminated. Raised concrete can sustain weight immediately. RaiseRite also works hand in hand with city engineers to make sure all projects are completed to code.

Mudjacking is the process of correcting or stabilizing a concrete slab.  Traditional mudjacking utilized a mud like mixture that is hydraulically pumped under the slab.  The newest material available for mudjacking is called High Density Polyurethane.  This material is a two part urethane foam that reacts and expands for the same outcome you would acheive with traditional mudjacking material.

High Density Polyurethane is the future for DOT concrete raising, stabilization, and void filling repair

Polyurethane
Concrete Raising

DOT’s are now calling for more polyurethane slabjacking because the material is lightweight and will not overburden the soil. Polyurethane material weights 247.5 pounds per yard. Where as Mudjacking Grout weighs 2500 pounds per yard, but offers a higher compressive strength.

Traveling all around the United States RaiseRite is setting the standard for polyurethane concrete raising and void filling.

The Traditional Mudjacking Process

Holes are strategically drilled into the slab requiring mudjacking. Mudjacking material  is pumped under the slab, this is a pond sand-based grout that will not lose its density.

The RaiseRite truck remains parked, while the slabjacking crew maneuvers the pump to the site requiring repair. Armed with many lengths of hose, the slabjacking crew can reach just about anywhere.

Combined with portland cement this sand-based non-organic mixture is pumped under the slab of concrete with a hydraulic mudpump roughly the size of a riding lawn mower. The pumps operate at 50-750 psi, and will only use the force necessary based on the slab resistance to minimize any potential cracking.

Roads & Streets

Road repairs can be made with minimal disruption and traffic can return to normal immediately after the slabjacking work is completed. RaiseRite works with contractors and state contracts for slabjacking projects of all sizes.

Sidewalk Projects

Many municipalities mark vertical sidewalk displacements for residents to repair. RaiseRite’s involvement can vary throughout the process. When the customer has been notified the repairs are necessary, RaiseRite will then follow up with residents to offer a free slabjacking estimate. If the customer chooses not to make the repair, RaiseRite will then work directly with the city to complete the slabjacking.

Cities typically require that the property owner repair sidewalk vertical displacments that exceed 1/2 inch.
These cracked city walk sections can be repaired with slabjacking to eliminate the trip hazard.
The hazard has been removed and the sidewalk is ready for use.

This cost effective method will save you and your residents the money, time and hassle involved in replacement. Municipalities recognize the need to reduce ‘trip-and-fall liabilities’ and contract RaiseRite to prevent those future liability issues.

Contact RaiseRite to help execute your City Sidewalk Project quickly and efficiently with slabjacking.

Bridge Approach

With the basic construction of a bridge approach, it is common that the fill built up to create the approach experiences settling. To fill this void and provide support, many state and private or contractors work with RaiseRite to complete the necessary repairs.

For vehicle and foot traffic, it is important to maintain your bridge approaches.
After mudjacking, the trip spot is removed, and there is proper support under the weight of the concrete.

Curb and Gutter

Typically bid by the linear square foot, it is common to contract with a slabjacking company to repair curb and gutter versus paying the extreme cost of replacing the areas. In those areas in which slabjacking may not be ideal, concrete grinding is also an option to remove high spots.

Void Filling

From slabs to pool decks or weigh stations, voids are common from washout, animal damage, or vibrations, and can easily be filled with material to support the weight of the concrete.
